Reports To: Program Director/Coordinator
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursing Assistant (CNA) Clinical Instructor to join our growing CNA program! In this role, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice by supervising and mentoring students during their clinical rotations in healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
Clinical Supervision and Mentorship:
- Oversee and guide CNA students during their clinical rotations at partner healthcare facilities.
- Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for students in the clinical setting.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to students on their application of CNA skills and knowledge with patients.
- Help students develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional conduct.
- Foster positive relationships with clinical staff and serve as a liaison between the program and healthcare facilities.
Evaluation and Assessment:
- Collaborate with CNA program instructors to develop and implement clinical evaluation tools for student performance.
- Assess student competency in performing CNA skills and adhering to infection control protocols in a clinical setting.
- Document student progress and provide constructive feedback that contributes to their overall learning and development.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with CNA program instructors to ensure alignment between classroom instruction and clinical practice.
- Maintain open communication with clinical staff at partner facilities regarding student performance and learning objectives.
- Report any concerns regarding student safety, performance, or professionalism to the program director.
Professional Development:
- Stay current on best practices in CNA clinical education and patient care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and teaching skills in a clinical setting.
Qualifications:
- Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse or license practical nurse in the state of Missouri.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Prior teaching experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment for diverse adult learners.
- Patience, compassion, and commitment to student success.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attend train the trainer program or open to attending one.
Benefits: Pay $23-$27 per hour based on experience and License.
